The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a hit-and-run that left a motorcyclist dead in Lee County.

According to FHP, the deadly crash happened at around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday on Lee Boulevard, near Hanna Avenue.

The motorcyclist was traveling west on Lee Blvd. when another vehicle, suspected to be a white pickup truck, exited a parking lot access road to travel west along Lee Blvd.

The truck entered the westbound travel lanes of Lee Blvd. and collided with the motorcycle, sending the motorcycle into the eastbound lanes where it was then struck by an SUV.

The motorcyclist, a 26-year-old man from Lehigh Acres, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the pickup truck fled the scene, and both driver and vehicle type remain unknown.

It’s possible the vehicle is a white Dodge Ram work truck, driven by a Hispanic male.
