The winners have been announced in the 34th annual American Sand Sculpting Championship hosted on Fort Myers Beach.

After a long wait, the American Sand Sculpting Competition on Fort Myers Beach returned on Nov. 21, concluding on Sunday.

After several setbacks, such as COVID-19 and Hurricane Ian, the competition returned for its second year.

The American Sand Sculpting announced the winners of the Masters Division and the Semi-Pro Division.

In the Masters Division:

  • Remy Hogard’s “Roses of Bulgaria” won Sculptors Choice.
  • American Champion Bruce Waugh’s “Fish Out of Water” placed first.
  • Todd Pangborn’s “Prevailing Winds” placed second.
  • Bruce Peck’s “Ascension” placed third.

In the Semi-Pro Division:

  • Brendan Schaffer’s “Sand ta” won Sculptors Choice.
  • Florida State Champion Brendan Schaffer’s “Sand ta” placed first.
  • Darrell O’Conner’s “Rising from the Rubble” placed second.
  • Scott Tripplett’s “They Went That Way” placed third.
