According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a trooper attempted to stop a car on Pondella Road, but the car, being driven by a 16-year-old, then took off.

They eventually arrested the teen after he fled on foot.

The owner of the car said he was shocked to find out his vehicle contained marijuana, counterfeit money and boxes of beer after police released it to him.

Christian woke up to his girlfriend telling him his car wasn’t outside. He then reported it stolen to the Cape Coral Police Department.

Christian went to the impound lot on Wednesday, where he was reunited with his car.

He said that regardless of what happened, he’s just glad he doesn’t need to shop for a new car.

“I’m just so fortunate to have my car back,” said Christian. “I just needed my car. I wasn’t ready to just not have a car.”

The 16-year-old now faces multiple charges, including driving without a valid license, grand theft, fleeing, reckless driving and obstruction.
