Lee Health is expanding its reach and held an event for a groundbreaking ceremony for its new Fort Myers campus.

The event was held at 10 a.m. Monday at 4453 Challenger Blvd.

Leaders of Lee Health, the City of Fort Myers, stakeholders and partners celebrated the ceremonial beginning of the construction of the future campus.

It will offer innovative care solutions for the community and enhance access to healthcare services.

Both Lee Health and city leaders attended this milestone moment for the project, which will transform health care in the City of Fort Myers.

“This is kind of a state-of-the-art campus for the local community, so we help memorialize downtown,” said Trenton LeBlanc, general superintendent of Skanska Construction. “We’ll be closing down and moving to this state-of-the-art facility.”

They expect the project to take about three years to complete and hope to have it finished by 2027.
