Awards & Recognition

Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) designation from the American Meteorological Society.

News Philosophy

Our job as meteorologists isn’t just to forecast the weather. It’s explaining the science to you, the viewer, in a fun, accurate and engaging way!

Hobbies, Interests & Community Involvement

I love exploring the outdoors with friends, family, and especially my puppy, Roger! I much prefer Diet Coke over coffee. I love to learn and would attend school for the rest of my life (and forecast the weather on the side) if I could. I enjoy being active as a dancer and swimmer, but football is my favorite sport - although I never played. Growing up an Auburn fan, I’ll always have a loyalty to the Tigers, but my main sports teams are the Florida Gators, Atlanta Falcons, and Atlanta Braves. I’m an alumni of the Chi Omega Fraternity and very passionate about our philanthropy, the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Watching the tropics: 1 area in the Atlantic; 1 area in the Caribbean

After a lull in tropical development since Hurricane Delta, we’re starting to see a hint of the late October secondary peak of activity. Right now, the region we are watching, especially closely is the southwestern Caribbean Sea. The National Hurricane Center is expecting an area of low pressure to form in this area next week […]

Two areas of interest to monitor in the Atlantic Basin

A weak area of low pressure near the Lesser Antilles has become much less-defined, and now has a zero percent chance of tropical development. Although development is not anticipated, we’ll need to watch the movement of this first area closely by late next week as some of the leftover energy may enhance another tropical disturbance […]

Tropics are heating up again

After a brief lull, more tropical trouble is brewing as we head into mid-October, with three areas to watch in the coming days. A broad area of low pressure associated with a tropical wave is located a few hundred miles east of the Windward Islands. Strong upper-level wind is enhancing wind shear and will continue […]

Development potential lowers for tropical wave in central Atlantic

The Weather Authority continues to monitor a tropical wave about 500 miles east of the Windward Islands. The disturbance has become less organized today. As previously mentioned, wind shear is beginning to increase in the main development region. For this reason, minimal development is possible over the next few days as the wind shear increases […]

Low chance of development for tropical disturbance in central Atlantic

The Weather Authority is still monitoring a tropical wave about 750 miles east of the Windward Islands. Dubbed Invest 93-L, this area of disturbed weather looks slightly more organized today. Some gradual development is over the next day or so as the disturbance moves slowly westward. However, later this week, high wind shear is expected […]

Extremely dangerous Hurricane Delta approaching the Yucatan

As of 11 p.m. Tuesday, Delta has weakened some but remains to be an extremely dangerous Category 4 hurricane with 130 MPH wind. The potentially catastrophic hurricane will directly strike the northeastern Yucatan Peninsula, including Cancun, tonight into tomorrow morning. Right now, the storm is racing toward the west-northwest at 16 mph a few hundred […]

Hurricane Delta expected to become a major hurricane by late Tuesday

Tropical Storm Delta became a hurricane Monday evening and is expected to continue to undergo rapid intensification for at least the next two days. As of 11 p.m., Hurricane Delta now has 80 mph winds with pressure down at 977 mb. It is moving to the west-northwest at 7 mph. As Delta continues to move […]
