Harry Chapin Food Bank plans to ‘peel back’ hunger

FORT MYERS, Fla.- Harry Chapin Food Bank announced its largest fundraising effort ever.

For two years, they have been raising money for a private campaign and Wednesday night, they made the effort public.

So far $2.7 million has been raised. After making it public tonight, they hope to raise a total of $5.175 million!

The campaign started in 2012 and does not include any money from the Hunger Walk.

The organization has already started using the money to buy new trucks, new freezers, and pay off the building they are in now.
