MGN MIAMI (AP) – Authorities say a Miami-Dade police officer fatally shot a 22-year-old man following a confrontation. Investigators say three officers were on routine community bike patrol Wednesday night when they were dispatched to a report of shots fired. Police say there was an altercation between the officers and 22-year-old Tevin Barkley, one of the officers retrieved his firearm and shot Barkley. It wasn’t clear how many shots were fired. Investigators recovered an assault weapon from the scene. None of the officers was injured. Police have not released the name of the officer who shot Barkley. No further details were immediately available. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating.
