LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Southwest Airlines announced that it’s giving the downtown Fort Myers Regional Library $50,000!
It’s one of six locations across the U.S. to receive the Heart of the Community grant.
The money will be used to transform the library’s campus into an interactive learning space.
“We’ll be able to have some outdoor programs. We’ve got on the agenda some ideas like rocking chairs, we’re talking about some interactive things for children, supplies for a monthly art yard, that sort of thing,” said Programming Director Kristy Kilfoyle.
Part of the grant will also go toward new tables and chairs, outdoor reading rooms and information kiosks.
