FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) – Federal prosecutors say a U.S. Army recruiter is facing allegations of sexual misconduct with 10 female students who were potential military recruits.

The South Florida Sun Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1K8x0Og ) reports prosecutors announced Tuesday 30-year-old Jose Nieves Jr. of Sunrise was arrested Friday on a federal complaint alleging he had illegal sexual contact with three high school students in Broward County. Authorities say seven more girls have told officials Nieves had inappropriate sexual contact with them in the 18 months he worked as a recruiter in South Florida.

Federal prosecutors said during a bond hearing Tuesday in Fort Lauderdale nine of the girls were underage and the youngest was 15. The eldest, an 18-year-old, told investigators that Nieves sexually assaulted her.

Prosecutors say Nieves will be indicted this week on federal charges.
