Huggies responds to claims of glass in wipes

Published:

CAMARILLO, CA. – A mother said she found shards in several packages of Huggies baby wipes, according to CNN.

Melissa Estrella posted a video on Facebook this week showing the wipes. Since it’s posting, the video has received more than 6.5 million page views from other parents worried about the wipes.

“If you can see all of this stuff shining on the wipes, that is all glass,” she said in the video. “All we have to do is wipe and glass comes right off.”

Since Estrella posted the video, Huggies responded saying, “While this condition is not normal, it does happen infrequently during the manufacturing process,” the post read. “When combined, the fibers in our wipes have on occasion created shiny particles, similar to what was found by this parent.”

By Friday, the company had updated its Frequently Asked Questions stating,
