Sheriff Scott talks Sievers case with Nancy Grace

Published: Updated:

FORT MYERS, Fla.- The murder of a beloved Bonita Springs doctor is gaining national attention. Tuesday night, Sheriff Mike Scott was on the phone with Nancy Grace on HLN. He talked about the case, and the ongoing investigation.

As he has said before, Sheriff Scott said more arrests are possible and the investigation is still very active. He says, “we have evidence that’s yet to be finalized, in terms of evaluated and analyzed, both evidence that was gathered here in Florida, in Missouri and points in between.”

He says they sent investigators to Missouri about two weeks after the murder. He thought they would stay for 3 days, but they ended up there for 3 weeks.

He would also not comment directly on whether Teresa Sievers had a life insurance policy but says they are “on top of that angle.”

The sheriff did not rule out the possibility of someone else being at the home when Sievers was brutally murdered. “That general envelope of initial suspicion is one that’s fairly broad. It can be husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, close family, friends, business associates, so that’s sort of what happened initially and as remains the case, I’m not at liberty to say that there’s no one else directly involved.”
