LCSO: Body pulled from water at Shell Point, foul play not suspected

Published: Updated:

FORT MYERS, Fla.- Divers with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office pulled a body from the water at the Shell Point Retirement Community off Old McGregor Boulevard on Friday.

A Shell Point spokesperson says a vendor who was working on the property saw something suspicious along the water and called 911.

The body does not have any visible signs of trauma, according to the sheriff’s office, so foul play is not suspected at this time.

The medical examiner’s office will work to determine a cause of death and identify the person.
