Naples ranch investigation raises questions in case of missing man

Published: Updated:

EAST NAPLES, Fla.- For two days investigators searched the grounds of a Naples ranch along Smith Road.

Just off the road, a blue tent was set up just behind a building with a West Coast Ranch sign out in front.

Detectives surrounded the area and brought in a front-end loader provided by Collier County to dig up a large area on the side of the home. The Collier County Sheriff’s Office has not said if detectives uncovered anything under the dirt.

Smith Road is just under four miles away from the Super 8 motel where a missing Naples man’s truck was recovered unlocked with a wallet inside.

It’s the same area near Belk Road where Salvador Sanchez’s friends gathered to search for him on horse back last weekend. Sanchez was last seen on March 6.

Authorities have not commented on whether the two cases are related.
