Motorcyclist killed in late night Fort Myers hit-and-run crash

FORT MYERS, Fla.- A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Sunday night along Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers police said.

The crash happened around 11 p.m. between Deleon Street and Summerlin Boulevard, police said.

Authorities say the motorcyclist, heading westbound on Colonial Boulevard, was struck by a pickup truck which fled the scene after the crash. The driver of the motorcycle died on scene.

The suspect truck is described as a white, newer-model pickup truck with a topper on the bed of the truck. The truck should have damage to the driver’s side as well as a missing driver’s side outside mirror, police said.

The pickup truck was last seen headed westbound on Colonial Boulevard towards the Midpoint Bridge or McGregor Boulevard.
