Collier VFW finishes years-long unmarked grave project

IMMOKALEE, Fla. — The Collier County Veterans of Foreign Wars marked the last unknown grave at Lake Trafford Cemetery on Wednesday.

After years of research and numerous obstacles, the VFW uncovered the identities of the missing veterans and bought new headstones for proper burials.

The VFW will officially dedicate the new headstones at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the cemetery.
