Charges pending after 1 injured in North Port BB gun shooting

NORTH PORT, Fla. — The North Port Police Department conducted an investigation after a juvenile was airlifted to the All Children’s hospital after being shot by an unknown suspect Saturday night.

Two juveniles were shooting BB guns outside a residence on the 4800 block of Ariton Road around 7:00 p.m. when one of the juveniles was struck in the head by a BB, according to NPPD.

The victim was released from All Children’s after being treated for non life-threatening injuries, according to NPPD.

Police said the shooting was an isolated incident and there’s no threat to the public. Charges are pending from this incident.

No further information was immediately available.
