NAPLES, Fla. A brush fire that threatened homes on Third Avenue Southwest near Collier Boulevard has been 100 percent contained, Greater Naples Fire Rescue assistant chief Nolan Sapp said.

The 4-acre fire originated at 4431 Third Avenue Southwest on Monday afternoon and moved toward First Avenue Southwest, according to Sapp.

A smaller fire broke out near the intersection of Golden Gate Boulevard and Fourth Street Southeast, but it didn’t threaten any homes and it has also been 100 percent contained, Sapp said.

No evacuations were issued, according to fire officials, and no homes appear to have sustained damage.

No further information was immediately available.
