Pedro Sliva-Diaz, 34, learned his fate Thursday morning when a judge sentenced him to 20 years for the death of 13-year-old Shayden Colvin.
Colvin was killed in 2017 in a hit-and-run crash while riding his bicycle near East Naples Middle School.
Silva-Diaz was on Lakewood Boulevard turning left onto Estey Avenue when he hit Colvin.
He continued driving and was later stopped by deputies at Green and Sunshine boulevards about 10 minutes later, after a witness called 911.
