Credit: Google Maps via WINK News. Florida Highway Patrol responded to a deadly, single-vehicle crash involving a dirt bike in Lehigh Acres Friday night. The crash happened at the corner of Butler Street E and Selkirk Avenue. A 24-year-old man from Dalton, Georgia was driving a dirt bike Friday around 8 p.m. when the bike ramped the west edge of the nearby canal and became airborne. The bike then collided with the east side canal embankment, causing the driver to be separated from the bike. The dirt bike came to final rest on the east grass shoulder, facing east. The driver, who was wearing a helmet, succumbed to his injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
