Credit: via WINK News. State inspectors are stepping up patrols to make sure you’re safe when you go out to eat. The Department of Business and Professional Regulation is the state agency that regulates a restaurant’s license. Inspectors are now doing daily routine checks across the state and following up on complaints. They sent us the complaints they received for bars and restaurants across Southwest Florida. As of last week, Lee County had the most with 54 complaints, Collier County had 12, and Charlotte County had 6. Every day WINK News has received emails from viewers saying they are unhappy with the way businesses are handling reopening. Many of you telling us places aren’t following CDC guidelines. Here’s what some of you wrote: – places have been packed to the brim – employees are not wearing a mask – they aren’t doing the proper disinfecting A reminder —The governor’s order for phase two says restaurants must operate at 50 percent inside. They can have seating at the bar and full capacity outside but need to maintain social distancing. Businesses that don’t comply can see fines, suspension, or limitations of their license. DBPR encourages you to file a complaint with them if you go out and find a restaurant not following the rules. You can submit those complaints here. **The form will only work on desktop/laptop browsers.
