The Lee County Sheriff’s Office and Fort Myers Police Department along with state and federal officials on Tuesday announced “Operation Club Blu” and a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of suspects in the 2016 Club Blu shooting. The July 25, 2016, shooting outside the Fort Myers club left two people dead and 14 injured. A reminder of the two kids killed. Their killer or killers on the run and now, four years later, a renewed push for justice. “We have formed Operation Club Blu,” said State Attorney Amira D. Fox. A task force between the State Attorney’s Office, Fort Myers police, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI to find out who was behind this chaos that unfolded outside the Fort Myers club. “We can’t let violence get the upper hand and we can’t let the night of July 25, 2016, when 16 people were shot, two of them fatally, outside Club Blu ever happen again,” said FBI Special Agent Michael McPherson. The mass shooting killed Stefan Strawder and Sean Archilles. “FMPD personnel have spent over 1,000 man-hours on this investigation and I believe we are very close to positive results,” said FMPD Deputy Chief Randy Pepitone. The agencies announced they are dedicating detectives and investigators to focus on the case again and upping the ante with a $20,000 reward, pleading for people to come forward. “More information is needed. That’s where you the public comes in. We’re asking for your partnership,” McPherson said. “Let’s all work together to bring closure to the families of the victims,” said LCSO Sheriff Carmine Marceno. Anyone with information on the shooting and/or its suspects should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous. Tips may also be made online at www.southwestfloridacrimestoppers.com or on the P3Tips mobile app. The $20,000 reward is a cumulation of $3,000 from Crime Stoppers, $7,000 from the FMPD, and $10,000 from the FBI.
