Three people reportedly doing a photoshoot aboard a boat in the St. Lucie River somehow fell overboard the vessel, which then went wildly out of control.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office said the incident happened late Friday, when three men took the 24-foot boat out on the river.

The men told deputies that after they fell off the boat, it started going in circles, forcing them to dive underwater several times to avoid being hit. The boat then straightened itself out and barreled toward shore at a high rate of speed. It hit a concrete dock, went airborne and hit a second dock before coming to a stop on the shoreline behind a home.

The men were able to swim to a nearby sailboat, the sheriff’s office said. One had minor injuries.

A Martin County sheriff’s pilot flying over the scene caught it all on video.

The investigation into the cause of the incident has been turned over to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
