Work was underway Thursday to remove a sailboat that crashed into the Matlacha Bridge.
In the blink of an eye, Christian Mancon’s home slipped away Wednesday during effects brought on by Tropical Storm Eta. The real work started 24 hours later when people worked to make the boat sailable again. The boat’s motor was working again, as more patchwork was completed.
This Bridgewater Inn manager says they’ve got a lot of work ahead of them to fix part of a dock that ripped away.
“This storm just turned up so fast so quick that it caught the bait owners by surprise,” John Tobin said.
As for boats that are still turned over in the water, it’s unclear what’s going to happen.
