A 40-year-old Port Charlotte man was killed in a crash Saturday.

The Florida Highway Patrol says the man was headed south on Winchester Boulevard, just south of Cougar Way, when he lost control of his pickup truck, then hit a metal fence and a concrete pole.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Florida Highway Patrol no longer releases the names of those involved in crashes, citing Marsy’s Law.
