Credit: Surveillance video via Florida Highway Patrol. Monday, a woman was run over by a pickup truck in the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store parking lot near Palm Beach Blvd and I-75. According to an FHP report, a woman, 49, from Cape Coral, was kneeling in the parking lot near a parked pickup truck towing a flatbed utility trailer. The driver of the pickup truck, described as a Ford F-250, possibly white, was initially on the back of the trailer rearranging items. The suspect could be seen on surveillance video getting into the truck and driving away, hitting the woman and running her over with the front-right tire. “Obviously, hits something that it shakes his whole vehicle, and then when he departs, he also has a vantage point of his driver side window and can obviously see where he just departed from,” FHP Lt. Greg Bueno said. “For someone not to have the wherewithal to stop their car get out and look and say what did I just hit, there’s no excuse for that.” The suspect continued to drive away without stopping, and the victim suffered serious injuries. If you can identify the suspects or have any information, submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477) and be eligible for a cash reward.
