A swimmer reported missing off Fort Myers Beach Wednesday night has been found dead.
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is among a number of agencies that responded to the report of a missing swimmer near Fort Myers Beach Wednesday night.
According to Miami U.S. Coast Guard, two people jumped off a 30-foot sailboat for a swim. One person made it back to the boat, and the other did not. FWC confirmed around midnight that the missing swimmer was located dead by searchers.
Lee County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation.
