Investigators are hoping that mailers about the Lauren Dumolo missing person’s case will help bring to light more information that could help find her whereabouts.

Dumolo went missing on June 19, 2020. She was last seen at Cape Coral’s Four Freedoms Park.

The last 18 months have been a rollercoaster for her father Paul Dumolo.

He said he is grateful for the mailers.

He experienced heartbreak when she disappeared and since then, sadness with no answers. And most recently, anger when he thought police found her remains only to learn they were of another missing woman in the area.

Now, he is hopeless.

Before Dumolo went missing she was trying to start a new chapter in her life. She was trying to get back on her feet and start a new job.

“This should’ve been handled a long time ago,” said Paul Dumolo. “This should’ve been solved a long time ago. This has just gotten to the point where I wonder sometimes if it will ever be solved. That’s a very scary thought to me.”

He is praying that the postcards sent out will reach someone who knows something.

“I know somebody out there knows what happened. I know more than one person I’m sure knows what happened,” Paul Dumolo said.

This is not the first time investigators try to get the word out to the masses, but SWFL Crime Stoppers Coordinator Trish Routte hopes this different method could work.

“We’ve done TV, we’ve done radio, billboards, social media posts,” Routte said. “There have been hundreds, if not thousands of them over the months. So now we’re trying something a little old school, the U.S. Mail.”

“You never know, somebody picks up this card that’s left in their mailbox and they say oh my god I remember this girl,” Paul Dumolo said. “I remember seeing her and they come forward with some type of information they didn’t know they had. That’s fantastic.”

The Cape Coral Police Department, which is the lead agency in the case, denied a request for an interview and said there is nothing new in the case to report.
