OCHOPEE FWC releases statement on Ochopee airboat crash that injured 24 The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) has released a statement on the two airboats that crashed into one another in Ochopee.
Authorities are investigating a shooting at a community in North Fort Myers. (CREDIT: WINK News) The Lee County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed a man died after he was shot at a mobile home community in North Fort Myers on Friday night. Deputies were called to a home in the 1000 block of North Tamiami Trail at around 7:30 p.m. and located a man with gunshot wounds. The man was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Deputies are investigating the death as a homicide. Deputies surrounded the River’s Edge Community along North Tamiami Trail right across the Edison Bridge. The sheriff’s office said there was no danger to the public, but the investigation remains active. Neighbors told WINK News that authorities said one person was shot and killed.
