CareerSource Southwest Florida holding job fair at Suncoast Credit Union Arena

If you are searching for a new opportunity, you are in luck. CareerSource Southwest Florida is hosting one of its largest job fairs on Tuesday.

Several industries are looking to hire and have been struggling to fill vacancies. CareerSource says every business needs workers right now, but the two fields seeking to hire more people and are taking a hard hit are the healthcare and service industries.

Along with those positions that need to be filled, more than 80 businesses will have job opportunities in fields like law enforcement, education, finance, and more.

CareerSource says the unemployment rate in Southwest Florida is 2.9%. That is less than the statewide unemployment rate of 3.3% and the national unemployment rate of 3.6%.

CareerSource will be helping people who attended the job fair with their resumes and enhance their interviewing skills. They encourage all job seekers to take advantage of this opportunity.

“A one-stop shopping event for job seekers and people seeking new careers. We have over 80 businesses of all sizes, from small to large, and over 15 educational organizations, from colleges, universities and technical institutions all coming together with their career specialist to be in under one roof,” said Amy Hanna-Eckenrode, with CareerSource Southwest Florida.

CareerSource says if you attended, be prepared to meet with recruiters and have on-the-spot interviews. “Highly suggest that you dress for success, that you bring plenty of copies of your resume, to hand out and share with recruiters and to be prepared to give your 30-second infomercial about yourself, to sell yourself and be ready to go,” said Hanna-Eckenrode.

The Southwest Florida Spring Regional Career Fair will be held Tuesday, April 5th, at the Suncoast Credit Union Arena on FSW’s campus from 9:00 a.m to 3:00 p.m.
