A 24-year-old woman has been arrested after Collier County deputies say she intentionally struck a patrol car multiple times and then led authorities on a chase.

Lidia Esperanza Ajca-Tebalan, of Immokalee, was arrested and faces charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, fleeing and eluding, hit and run, and leaving the scene of a crash with property damage.

The incident happened near the intersection of Rebecca Drive and Boston Avenue in Immokalee around 8 p.m. on Wednesday night.

According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy responded to a vehicle crash there and found Ajca-Tebalan driving the suspect vehicle.

The deputy said Ajca-Tebalan made eye contact with him and then accelerated, striking his patrol car twice before speeding off down Boston Avenue.

Ajca-Tebalan led deputies on a brief pursuit which ended when she crashed her SUV into a tree at the intersection of Boston and Oakhaven Circle. She was taken into custody.
