Few storms for Sunday

The Weather Authority expects a mix of sun and clouds, highs in the upper 80s to around 90, and a chance of storms mainly south for your Sunday.

Sunday will start off nicely, with mostly clear skies and temperatures in the 70s.

By the afternoon hours, temperatures will climb into the upper 80s. The heat will be enough to spark storms this afternoon, mainly south in Collier County. Dry air will keep our northern zones mostly dry.

Expect daily storm chances to continue across Southwest Florida into the first half of the work week. However, a strong cold front will push across the state midweek. Behind it, a taste of fall as highs plunges into the 70s and lows in the 50s. It won’t last long, though, as temperatures quickly return to normal by next weekend.
