A 19-year-old man went to the hospital in critical condition after his SUV was T-boned in a Monday night hit-and-run at Broadway and Moreno Avenue in Fort Myers.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, an unidentified vehicle—possibly a blue or black older-model sedan with left front damage, black rims and tinted windows—was traveling south on Broadway, approaching the intersection of Moreno Avenue just before 7:30 p.m. An SUV driven by a 19-year-old man from Cape Coral was traveling north on Broadway, approaching the intersection of Moreno Avenue.

The sedan attempted to turn onto Moreno Avenue in front of the approaching SUV, T-boning it. The SUV rotated and collided with a tree (sending the left rear tire flying into an unoccupied parked vehicle).

The man sustained critical injuries and was transported to an area hospital. The unknown driver drove away after the crash.

Anyone with information regarding this crash is asked to call *FHP (*347) or Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-8477. The crash remains under investigation.
