Motorcyclist killed in crash on Tamiami Trail in North Fort Myers

A crash killed a 27-year-old North Fort Myers motorcyclist on Tamiami Trail in North Fort Myers on Tuesday evening.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the crash involved an SUV and a dirt bike and happened at 7:30 p.m. It happened near the intersection of Tamiami Trail and Pine Island Road.

WINK News arrived at the scene, and the dirt bike was seen laying on the road under a car.

FHP said the dirt bike was traveling east on B Street, approaching US-41 and an SUV driven by a 25-year-old Fort Myers man was traveling south on US-41 approaching B Street. The dirt bike made a right turn as the SUV was approaching. The two collided. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead on the scene.

The crash caused a roadblock on US-41 for hours.
