Roads in downtown Fort Myers have reopened.

Downtown Fort Myers entered high tide and experienced flooding on the streets after Hurricane Idalia swept past Southwest Florida.

Hendry Street in downtown Fort Myers, usually packed with cars and people walking, was empty Wednesday afternoon with an estimated six inches of water on the road at around 4 p.m.

Around 7 p.m., most of the flooding cleared.
