A group of manatees stranded in a canal at a golf course are not in a life-threatening situation according to The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and will not be moved from there.

The canal off Whiskey Creek Drive in Fort Myers is not the normal home of the four displaced manatees.

However, the FWC assessed the situation, Friday, and came to the conclusion that a rescue was unnecessary.
