A Cape Coral man will spend two years in federal prison for bank fraud related to COVID-19 relief funds.

According to court documents, Denis Casseus submitted two applications for PPP loans in Lee County.

He claimed the money would be used for business-related purposes, but a portion went toward a down payment on a new house.

Casseus pleaded guilty to the charges back in May.

He will also have to pay a forfeiture of nearly $300,000.
