Brrrrr! Cold front drops morning temperatures to lower 50s

Published: Updated:

The WINK News Weather Authority keeps Southwest Florida up to date with its hourly weather forecast, seven days a week.

WINK News Meteorologist Zach Maloch is tracking a cold front dropping morning temperatures to the lower 50s in the Southwest Florida area.

Here’s what to expect for the next three days:

Thursday: A chilly start to the day with temperatures in the 40s and low 50s. We’ll see more sun than clouds today with slightly mild temperatures. Highs today will reach the low-mid 70s.

Friday: Milder morning with lows in the mid-upper 50s. We’ll see stray showers in the afternoon with more clouds than sun. Highs in the upper 70s-low 80s.

Saturday: Warmer and slightly more humid morning with lows in the mid-60s. Expect a warm afternoon as well with highs in the low-mid 80s. A stray shower is possible throughout the day, but most areas will stay dry.

Scattered rain and storms will move through Southwest Florida Sunday evening and continue moving from the northwest to the southeast through the early overnight ours.

The Storm Prediction Center in Norman Oklahoma has noted the possibility for severe weather in the south-central United States on Friday and Saturday.

If those severe storms come to fruition, portions of Florida and Southwest Florida may be a risk of seeing strong to severe storms Sunday.

The storms are forecast to arrive after sunset. Therefore, the storms will have less energy to work with so the severe threat may be low.
