Zach Maloch is the weekday morning meteorologist for WINK News. He is a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist by the American Meteorological Society. Zach grew up in the Chicagoland area and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from Iowa State University. After working for KCCI in Des Moines, IA, and KNWA in Fayetteville, AR, Zach joined WINK for the first time from 2016-2019, guiding viewers during Hurricane Irma.

After leaving WINK in 2019, Zach worked for WRAL in Raleigh, NC until 2022. After many years as a broadcast meteorologist, Zach decided to step back and return to SWFL to rejoin WINK; this time as a marketing consultant. While he enjoyed working directly with local businesses, his passion was getting viewers ready for their day and delivering important information when severe weather threatened.

Zach was asked to help assist the WINK Weather Authority Team during Hurricane Idalia in August 2023 and rejoined the team soon after.

In his spare time, you can find him on the golf course, at the beach, and exploring all Southwest Florida has to offer with his wife Lauren.
