The rain will not let up, and people are seeing the effects of it in Charlotte County, particularly in Punta Gorda. In some areas, Thursday afternoon, the streets are becoming flooded and impassable because of the constant downpour. A particularly strong burst of rain started pouring in Punta Gorda shortly before noon but let up 15 minutes later. Punta Gorda flooding. CREDIT: WINK News Nevertheless, the ground is soaking wet, with some of the roads, sidewalks and low-lying areas approaching flooding consideration. Drivers should drive carefully.
