Research before buying concert tickets during tax-free holiday this July

Published: Updated:

Do some research before you buy any concert tickets this summer, and in about a week, you’ll be able to save on all summer essentials as Freedom Month starts in July.

About 10 more days until you can purchase items like outdoor-related supplies and even concert tickets tax-free.

In the past, this sales tax holiday was only about a week. Now, it’s the entire month of July.

You’ll be able to get things like supplies, coolers, fishing and even concert tickets. That full list can be found here.

Make sure you’re buying concert tickets from the correct site. The Better Business Bureau warns that event ticket schemes increase during this time of year.

Con artists usually post a fantastic deal on social media. The link leads to a professional looking website.

The organization said it has received multiple reports of people who bought fake tickets to real events or tickets to events that don’t actually exist.

Before you buy any ticket, do some research:

  • Search for the concert online and make sure the website has real and working contact information.
  • Avoid buying tickets from websites that aren’t ticket sites.
  • Only book through a secure website with a credit card so you can dispute the charge easier.
  • If the site doesn’t accept credit cards, that’s a red flag.
  • And if the price is too good to be true, it probably is.
