Over 50 arrests were made Thursday after Operation Tropic Like it’s Hot by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno led the news conference at the LCSO headquarters Thursday afternoon.

“I want poison-selling drug dealers to know when my narcotics team comes for you. Drop it like it’s hot. Drop it like it’s hot,” said Marceno. “Drop your disgusting criminal lifestyle. Drop and get out of Lee County. If you see my team coming, it’s already too late. We’ll get that bag of dope in your hand. We’ll get that gun that you use to terrorize neighborhoods. And we’ll get you in handcuffs.”

LCSO seized hundreds of pills, 2 kilos of meth, a kilo of fentanyl, 80 pounds of illegal marijuana, thousands of rounds of ammunition and more.

Marceno says 50 of those worst of the worst people were arrested.

WINK News spoke to a neighbor in Lehigh Acres, where a drug house was busted Thursday morning.

“I feel relieved now, but because I did not know that it was a drug house,” said neighbor Mirla Alverez. “They were like giving them time to make more mistakes and now they got him.”

Several more suspects are being sought, according to Marceno.
