The Weather Authority is tracking increased cloud coverage throughout the afternoon, with temperatures expected to be the lowest for this workweek.

The Weather Authority Meteorologist Zach Maloch said, “Cloud coverage will be consistent throughout this Monday, with wind speeds increasing, bringing breezier conditions.”

Monday

Clouds continue to stream in as Southwest Florida will see more clouds than sun throughout the afternoon.

Winds will be breezy on Monday with gusts between 20 – 25 mph.

Temperatures will be quite pleasant with highs in the lower to mid 80s this afternoon.

Tuesday

Once again, Tuesday afternoon will bring more clouds than sun.

Temperatures will be a bit warmer, with highs in the mid- to upper 80s.

Breezy conditions will continue, with wind gusts between 20 – 30 mph.

Wednesday

Milder and slightly more humid start to Wednesday, with temperatures in the upper 60s and lower 70s.

Warmer-than-normal temperatures are in the forecast, with highs in the mid- to upper 80s.

Winds will continue to be breezy and gust between 25 – 35 mph Wednesday afternoon.

Tropics Update

The Weather Authority Meteorologists are monitoring the Caribbean as tropical development is possible late this week into the weekend.

Models are highlighting a broad area of low pressure in the Caribbean midweek that can slowly strengthen as it moves gradually off to the northeast.

Models remain quite inconsistent on how fast this area of interest develops and how strong it gets.

Historically speaking, systems that develop in the Caribbean this time of year track off to the Northeast and stay east of Florida.

This is something we will be watching closely over the next 7 days.

So far this season, we have seen 15 named storms, 10 of which developed into hurricanes and 4 of which developed into major hurricanes.

Hurricane season ends on Nov. 30.
