The Weather Authority is tracking warmer temperatures as the clouds clear out for more sun this afternoon.

The Weather Authority Meteorologist Zach Maloch said, “The clouds will continue to move farther south, revealing more sunshine and higher temperatures this afternoon. Winds will be on the higher side again, leading into breezier conditions throughout the day.”

Tuesday

Morning cloud cover will be moving out and we’ll see more sunshine across Southwest Florida for Tuesday afternoon.

While most will stay dry, a stray shower will be possible throughout the day.

Expect a warm and breezy afternoon with highs in the mid to upper 80s.

Wednesday

A milder and slightly more humid start to Wednesday, with temperatures in the upper 60s and lower 70s.

Warmer than normal temperatures are in the forecast, with highs in the mid- to upper 80s.

Winds will continue to be breezy, with gusts between 25 – 35 mph Wednesday afternoon.

Thursday

Happy Halloween! Sun and clouds will be with us for your Thursday afternoon plans.

Winds will be breezy once again, with gusts between 20 – 30 mph.

Highs in the mid to upper 80s. Mainly dry conditions with breezy weather will be in the forecast for trick-or-treating plans!

Tropics Update

The Weather Authority Meteorologists are monitoring the Caribbean as tropical development is possible over the next 7 days.

Models highlight a broad area of low pressure in the Caribbean midweek that can slowly strengthen as it moves gradually to the northeast.

Models remain quite inconsistent on how this area develops.

This morning’s models are showing even lower chances of development this weekend.

Historically, systems that develop in the Caribbean this time of year track off to the Northeast and stay east of Florida.

This is something we will be watching closely over the next 7 days.

So far this season, we have seen 15 named storms, 10 of which developed into hurricanes and 4 of which developed into major hurricanes. Hurricane season ends on November 30.
