The Englewood Chamber of Commerce announced that they are making a significant donation to the chamber’s community hurricane relief fund.

The Lighthouse United Methodist Church partnered with them to make a generous donation because they know the nonprofit has the tools to get the funds out to where they are needed most.

Peter Soderberg is the Missions Co-Chair of the Lighthouse Methodist Church. He said he wants to help people as soon as they can.

“This was a rapidly put together quiet campaign where we’ve collected this money and wanted to get it into the hands of people here as fast as possible,” said Soderberg. “We felt this area was the area that needed it most now.”

Senior Pastor Daphne Johnson said that their job is to spread the light of Jesus, so they will try to help Englewood in any way they can.

Over $88,000 will be donated to people affected by the recent hurricanes.
