Hanukkah, the Jewish holiday that lasts for eight nights, is entering its fifth day as many gather to observe the nightly menorah lighting.

Several Southwest Florida events are set to be held in celebration of the holiday.

WINK News reporter Paul Dolan will attend one event at Castle Golf in Fort Myers, where Rabbi Minkowicz of Chabad Lubavitch will be present.

Minkowicz has spoken to WINK News on several occasions regarding his repeated visits to war-torn Israel since the conflict broke out in the Middle East.

“We made a barbecue for the soldiers coming back, walking the back,” said Minkowicz. “They were out in Gaza for many, many days, and every soldier came up to us, literally with tears in their eyes, thanking us for coming.”

During the menorah lighting event, a survivor from the October 7 attack on Israel will speak.

The free event, located at 7400 Gladiolus Drive, is set to begin at 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Food, music, and drinks will be available, weather permitting.
