You could consider it a milestone a century in the making: a World War II veteran living in North Naples recently celebrated his 100th Christmas.

Leroy Williams, a resident at Brookdale Senior Living Facility in North Naples, valiantly defended the United States from Navy lines.

Since his time in the Navy, Williams worked as a teacher, school principal, and the superintendent of schools.

He also helped bring Honda manufacturing to the United States.

WINK News spoke to Williams about his three generations’ worth of Christmas celebrations and his secret to longevity.

“What’s my secret to living so long? Milking a cow and pitching hay. It was a hard job,” said Williams. “To add on top of that, I had a Scottish grandma and grandpa.”
