‘Operation Ghost Buster’: 16 arrested in Fort Myers drug operation

The Fort Myers Police Department Narcotics Unit conducted an operation targeting drug traffickers and individuals unlawfully selling and possessing firearms in Fort Myers.

On Jan. 8, The Special Enforcement Division and members of the US Marshals Service conducted a round-up operation to apprehend the identified drug traffickers from “Operation Ghost Busters.”

The investigation was conducted over several months, resulting in 16 individuals arrested.

Before the round-up operation, it was discovered that three of the individuals identified in this operation were already in custody.

One individual is in the Lee County Jail, and the other two are in the Florida Department of Corrections.

One of the traffickers in this operation had organized narcotic transactions from a Florida Department of Corrections Facility.

The following charges include:

  • Trafficking in Fentanyl
  • Trafficking in Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Fentanyl with Intent to Sell
  • Sale of Fentanyl
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance
  • Sale of a Controlled Substance

They seized four firearms and a variety of illicit narcotics during this operation.
