70-year-old motorcyclist killed in crash involving 2 vehicles on US 41

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle and two vehicles on U.S. 41 in Lee County.

Troopers responded to the crash at around 5:17 p.m. on Monday at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Evergreen Road.

According to troopers, a vehicle driven by a 28-year-old woman from North Fort Myers was traveling west on Evergreen Road, approaching U.S. 41.

A motorcycle driven by a 70-year-old man from North Fort Myers was traveling north on U.S. 41, approaching Evergreen Road.

A third vehicle driven by a 55-year-old man from Fort Myers was traveling south on U.S. 41, approaching Evergreen Road.

The first vehicle entered the northbound lanes of U.S. 41 in front of the approaching motorcycle.

The motorcycle collided with the side of the vehicle, killing the North Fort Myers motorcyclist.

Following the collision, the first vehicle veered across the southbound lanes of U.S. 41, hitting the third vehicle and causing minor injuries to the North Fort Myers woman.

The crash remains under investigation.
