53 people in 9 states sickened after eating raw tuna

LOS ANGELES (AP) – A salmonella outbreak likely linked to raw tuna has sickened 53 people in nine states.

Health officials say most of the cases are in California.

Other affected states are Arizona, Illinois, Mississippi, New Mexico, South Dakota, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin.

State and federal health officials say ten people have been hospitalized but no deaths have been reported.
