FHP investigating an I-75 fatality

UPDATE: The lane has reopened on I-75 at MM 143 northbound. FHP tells us that an unidentified 64-year-old man was struck and killed while walking on the edge of the road. They are asking for anyone that witnessed this accident to come forward. They do not have a description of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian at this time.

LEE COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Highway patrol is on the scene of a traffic fatality at mile marker 143 northbound near the Slater Road overpass. Only the left lane northbound is closed at this time.
